CIF Chanchlani Global Indian Awards

0.01

The Canda India Foundation ("CIF") commissioned Bennett Awards to create a new, unique custom awards design for its “CIF Chanchlani Global Indian Award”. These prestigious custom recognition trophies are given each year to recognize an individual who demonstrates global leadership, vision, and professional excellence, which has made people of Indian origin around the world proud of their heritage.

The CIF Chanchlani Global Indian Award was conceived by past CIF Convenor Ajit Someshwar. The achievement award was funded by a $1 million endowment from Vasu Chanchlani, along with monetary commitments from several CIF Charter Members. Apart from the obvious individual accomplishments, the main criteria for the recognition award recipient is that he/she makes the global Indian diaspora proud. In addition to the custom achievement trophies, these awards also include a sum of $50,000, which is given to a charity of the recipient’s choice.

For these prestigious recognition trophies, CIF commissioned Bennett Awards to create a new custom awards design that reflected the stature and global nature of these awards. This custom awards design incorporates a unique bronze sculpture created by the world-renowned Bennett Awards sculptor Tom Bennett holding a crystal globe. The sculpture awards feature a high-polished bronze finish, and are mounted on black marble bases with customized engravings of the CIF logo, award name, recipient name, and date of presentation.

Recipients of these custom awards include Deepak Chopra, one of the world's leading thinkers on human empowerment and mind-body medicine; Sam Pitroda, a pioneer of India’s telecom revolution; Tulsi Tanti, a trailblazer in the deployment of wind power; and Ratan Tata, one of India’s most respected industrialists and philanthropists.

CIF is a national, non-profit, non-partisan organization established in 2007 to foster support for stronger bi-lateral relations between Canada and India; to educate Canadians on the changing face of India and to increase the participation of Indo-Canadians in the public policy process in Canada. CIF's founding members include entrepreneurs, senior Canadian business executives and top tier professionals.
