Custom Crystal Awards
Custom crystal awards are a quick, economical and flexible option for your custom award needs. Custom crystal awards generally have the lowest overall cost, and shortest lead-time, of any of our custom award options. These crystal awards usually feature a geometric block of crystal with custom engraving. These blocks come in a variety of different pre-cut polyhedral shapes. One example of a pre-cut shape is the "Valor" shape shown at right (with a subsurface engraving example using the Bennett sculpture design "Honor"). Alternatively, custom shapes can be cut, although this has a significant impact on the cost and lead-time required to create these awards.

Multiple Custom Engraving Options
The custom engraving for these achievement awards can take two forms: 1) a 2D image engraved either on the surface of the award, or, alternatively, engraved inside the body of the award; or 2) a 3D image engraved inside the body of the award. The process to engrave the image inside the crystal is usually referred to as “sub-surface engraving”, and the net effect is that the object appears to be “floating” inside of the crystal block. The 3D image presents a new and unique view from every viewing angle. The custom crystal awards we created for NASA shown here are an example of what a “floating image” looks like.
Engrave Exactly What You Want: Text, Logos, Images, etc.
The engraved image can take virtually any form: an organizational logo or icon, an organic figure, a geometric design, or any other shape that captures the intent of the customization. A single image can be used, or, alternatively, a number of images can be combined to create a unique and striking effect. A great example of engraving multiple images within the crystal can be seen in the award we created for the New York AIR Society, which supports National Jewish Health. The crystal contains a variety of balloons (one of their organizational icons) – in different shapes and sizes – engraved within the crystal.
Combo Engraving: Inside & Out
These two engraving options can also be combined in a single award. For example, a 3D image, such as an organizational icon, can be engraved within the award, and then text and a flat logo providing specific details about the award can be engraved on the surface of the crystal. Shown, is a custom crystal trophy to commemorate the Detroit Tigers that showcases this effect.
Digitally imprinted color images
Any of our crystal awards can incorporate color images imprinted on any of their flat surfaces. This is an excellent way to add color, vitality and "pop" to your crystal award. Examples of color images include color logos, organization icons, location scenery, photographs, etc. The images can be imprinted on the front, back or both sides of the award. Imprinted color images can be oriented so that they are viewed extending out from the surfaces of the award (for example, one image can be viewed from the front surface of the award, and another separate image from the back surface of the award, creating two unique views), or viewed through the crystal block of the award. In the latter scenario, the color image serves as a "backdrop" for additional color images imprinted on the front surface of the award, for 3D subsurface images engraved inside the award, or for 2D engraving on the front surface of the award.
A Quick and Economical Approach to Custom Awards
Crystal awards can provide a quick and economical way to create stunning custom awards. The per-piece price of crystal awards can begin under $100, depending on the size and shape of the award. The lead-time to create these awards is usually about 2 weeks if the design is based on a pre-cut polyhedral shape. Custom cut shapes, however, will extend this lead-time to about 10 weeks, and entail much higher prices, so the vast majority of our customers opt for pre-cut shapes.

Award Personalization
Most of the custom awards we create support some level of personalization, such as the recipient’s name, award name, presenting organization or date of presentation. Depending on the award design, this may be a combination of text and images (such as logos). Many of the custom awards we create can be mounted on bases with personalized engraving (see buttons below). Custom awards that do not include a base as part of their design may be able to incorporate personalization as part of the award itself.
