World Series of Poker - "Chip Reese" Award

$0.01

The David "Chip" Reese Trophy is a custom award created by Bennett Awards for the World Series of Poker, the largest set of poker tournaments in the world. This custom award is a perpetual trophy that will be awarded each year to the H.O.R.S.E. World Champion. H.O.R.S.E. is a mixed game where players alternatively play each of the five different variations of poker - Hold 'Em, Omaha, Razz, Stud, and Eight or Better. H.O.R.S.E. is a $50,000 buy-in event that should net a $2,500,000 prize to this year's champion. This award will have the name of each year's H.O.R.S.E. champion engraved on its black marble base. The award will be presented to the winner on June 29, then shown on ESPN on August 19.

This perpetual custom award, designed by Bennett Awards artist Keith Shannon, honors David "Chip" Reese, who passed away December 4, 2007. Chip Reese was regarded by many professional poker players to have been the greatest cash game player that ever lived. Chip Reese won the inaugural H.O.R.S.E. event at the 2006 World Series of Poker, taking home a prize of $1,716,000. The award design stands 21" tall, and incorporates Chip Reese's winning hand, along with a $4,000 gold and diamond piece that is also used for the winner's bracelet.
