Honda IndyCar Race Features Custom Bennett Awards

Honda IndyCar Race winners with custom Bennett Awards

Custom recognition trophies from Bennett Awards were presented to the winning drivers in the recently completed Honda Grand Prix of St. Petersburg. This race is the first segment of the 2013 IZOD IndyCar Series, the premier IndyCar racing series in the United States and Canada. The race was held on March 24, 2013, at the Streets of St. Petersburg track in St. Petersburg, Florida.

Custom trophies designed and produced by Bennett Awards were presented to the top 3 finishers in the race. James Hinchcliffe captured the championship trophy, and Helio Castroneves, the 2012 champion, and Marco Andretti won the 2nd and 3rd place trophies, respectively.

These achievement trophies from Bennett Awards have been used to crown the race champions since 2009. In 2009, Bennett Awards worked with the event organizers to create a unique custom award design that captured the excitement, personality, and branding of the event. The unique award design features a sculpture of a palm tree, which is a prominent element of the race’s logo. The trunk of the palm tree is sculpted to look like a race track, further reinforcing the branding of the race. Finally, customized plates engraved with the full race logo are attached to each tree sculpture. These recognition trophies are mounted on black bases with engraved plates containing the place of finish, race date, and IndyCar race series logo.

The IZOD IndyCar Series is the premier open-wheel racing series in the United States and Canada, competing on a challenging combination of super-speedways, short ovals, scenic road courses and temporary street circuits. The series features a diverse field of stars with participants from the United States, Canada, Japan, England, Scotland, The Netherlands, Venezuela, Australia and New Zealand. The schedule consists of nineteen races, hosted across sixteen venues, with the premier race being the Indianapolis 500.
