Les Paul Receives Bennett Award from Rock Hall of Fame

Les Paul received award from Rock Hall of Fame

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum, together with Case Western Reserve University and Gibson Guitars, presented a Bennett sculpture award to Les Paul, the legendary Jazz guitarist, inventor and pioneer of the solid-body electric guitar. The presentation was made to Paul as part of an awards presentation and tribute concert for the 13th Annual American Music Masters series. The annual American Music Masters series celebrates an artist whose career has had a significant impact on rock and roll.

The unique Bennett sculpture award "Harmonize", which depicts a stylized musical note, was presented to Paul by Rock Hall CEO Terry Stewart on November 15, 2008. Following the recognition awards presentation, Paul and his trio performed a jam session for the delighted crowd. He was joined on stage by other performers in the tribute concert, including Slash, Duane Eddy and Richie Sambora.
