For the last 11 years, Underwriters Laboratories (UL) has selected custom awards created by Bennett Awards for its prestigious ‘Mark of Excellence Awards’. These recognition awards are presented to UL employees (individuals and teams) who exemplify UL’s three core values of Integrity, Competitiveness and Collaboration.
All UL employees, across all UL divisions and global locations, are eligible for the UL Mark of Excellence Awards. Any UL employee may submit a recognition award nomination for any other UL employee or team. All achievement award nominations are reviewed by a special committee, and ratified by the UL CEO and his staff. These distinctive corporate awards are presented to award recipients each year at a recognition awards ceremony held at UL’s corporate headquarters in Northbrook, Illinois.
UL is a global independent safety science company with more than a century of expertise innovating safety solutions. UL is the largest and best known independent, not-for-profit testing laboratory in the world. UL permits the use of its listing mark (the UL mark) as its stamp of approval on goods and materials after standardized and stringent testing. Thereafter its inspectors regularly visit the producer to audit compliance with its certification requirements.
In 2007, Bennett Awards worked with UL to create the custom award design that still used for its Mark of Excellence Awards. These custom sculpture awards are produced in pewter, and feature two interlocking curved planes in an impressionistic shape of a “U”. These clean, innovative sculpture awards are mounted on a black marble base. Customized engraved plate is affixed to the bases, and feature the name of the award, year of presentation, recipient name, and the UL logo and tagline.
