OMTEC Awards
The Story
ORTHOWORLD, the organizer behind the globally renowned Orthopaedic Manufacturing & Technology Exposition and Conference (OMTEC), approached Bennett Awards earlier in 2025 to develop a distinctive trophy for their newly introduced OMTEC Awards. Held June 17–19 at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Chicago, the event calls attention to innovation and leadership in orthopedic product manufacturing. ORTHOWORLD provided Bennett Awards with a variety of AI-generated design renderings as inspiration, setting the stage for a truly collaborative design journey.
The Design
Together with ORTHOWORLD, Bennett Awards pivoted from traditional types to a minimalist aesthetic: one that better aligned with OMTEC’s forward-thinking mission, budget, and timeline. The final design is an 8-inch tall aluminum trophy machined into the stylized “O” from the OMTEC Awards logo. It features a striking blue powder-coated finish matched to OMTEC’s brand color, and is paired with a sleek, black powder-coated aluminum base adorned with the event’s full logo.
The Craftsmanship
Bennett Awards employed precision machining for the aluminum “O” form, ensuring clean lines and crisp branding. The blue powder coating was carefully matched to OMTEC’s palette, which created visual cohesion with the event’s identity. The contrasting black powder-coated base was custom printed with the OMTEC Awards logo, delivering both elegance and brand clarity.
The Impact
The trophies debuted at OMTEC 2025 and were presented in three categories: Groundbreaking Device Design, Next-Gen Innovator, and Bold Leadership. More than 1,400 attendees saw the awards during the conference. They were also highlighted in the June 2025 issue of BoneZone Magazine and in the official OMTEC 2025 Conference Program, reaching an audience of over 10,000 industry professionals. Notable winners included Foundation Surgical, Johnson & Johnson MedTech, and Enovis. Feedback from organizers confirmed the awards were very well received and highly valued by recipients.
