Bennett Creates Custom Award for U.S. Soccer Tournament of Nations

Bennett Awards created a new custom award for the inaugural women’s soccer Tournament of Nations, an elite international soccer tournament hosed by U.S. Soccer. The tournament featured the women’s national teams from four countries: the U.S., Australia, Brazil and Japan. The tournament is held in a round robin format, with each team playing the other teams one time. The tournament champion is decided by points: teams get 3 points for a win, 1 point for a draw, and 0 points for a loss.

The tournament was held July 27 - August 3, 2017, in three venues on the west coast: Seattle’s Century Link Field, Los Angeles’ Stub Hub Center, and San Diego’s Qualcomm Stadium. All tournament matches were televised on the ESPN family of networks. Australia claimed victory in this inaugural tournament, winning all three of its matches.

Tournament of Nations award

For this tournament, Bennett Awards worked with U.S. Soccer to create a stunning new custom trophy design. The main award sculpture featured 4 curving spires semi-intertwined, with each spire representing one of the four competing teams. At the top of the sculpture, the spires spiraled toward each other and held a globe. The sculpture was produced in gold-plated pewter. It was mounted on a custom hardwood base shaped like a polygon with engravings of the tournament logo and each of the four competing teams.
