When Sappi secured a €525 million, 5-year revolving credit facility, the commemorative design paid tribute to the company’s heritage and industry leadership in pulp, paper, and wood-based products.

The tombstone was crafted from a real cross-section of wood, complete with natural bark edges and visible growth rings, symbolizing sustainability, longevity, and organic growth. The transaction details were mounted on a clear acrylic faceplate fixed with polished hardware, striking a balance between raw natural material and refined modern presentation.

The choice of wood was deliberate: it represents not only Sappi’s core business but also the company’s long-term vision for responsible forestry and renewable resources.
