Custom Perpetual Awards: Overview

Facebook hacker cup

Perpetual awards are recognition awards in which a single award is used each year (or some other specified interval) to recognize new recipients of that award. Each year’s recipient is typically recognized via a personalized plate that is affixed to the base of the award. Unlike individual recognition awards, which are given to each award recipient for display in a place of their choosing, perpetual awards are generally displayed in a common area visible at large, such as a lobby or trophy case.

Perpetual awards are often used in conjunction with individual recognition awards. In these instances, a large perpetual award is permanently displayed in a visible area, with plates signifying each year’s winner, and smaller individual awards of the same design are given to each year’s recipients to keep.

In some cases, perpetual awards travel to the location of each year’s winner. These are often referred to as “traveling trophies”.

Perpetual awards are a great way of creating a permanent legacy of recognition and thanks in honor of an organization’s recipients and their accomplishments. Display of these perpetual awards also serves an aspirational purpose in that it provides an incentive for potential recipients to strive for the goals that the award honors.

Because of the prominent display, perpetual awards are also a great way for an organization to reinforce its branding and positioning in a highly visible and engaging way.

Award Personalization

Most of the custom awards we create support some level of personalization, such as the recipient’s name, award name, presenting organization or date of presentation. Depending on the award design, this may be a combination of text and images (such as logos). Many of the custom awards we create can be mounted on bases with personalized engraving (see buttons below). Custom awards that do not include a base as part of their design may be able to incorporate personalization as part of the award itself. Once we understand your personalization needs, we will work with you to create a custom award design that supports these requirements.
