Gladys Knight, Bubba Knight and Ben Vareen Honored with Bennett Awards from Broadway in HOOD

Broadway in the HOOD honored Ben Vareen, Gladys Knight and Bubba Knight with unique sculpture awards from Bennett Awards as part of their 10th anniversary celebration. Broadway in the HOOD is a national theatre program dedicated to making a positive impact in communities across the United States, with a special focus on youth between the ages of 10 to 20 residing in the worst of neighborhoods; plagued with violence, gangs, drugs, and other atrocities. Broadway in the HOOD, headquarted in Las Vegas and founded by Torrey A. Russell, is comprised of real, everyday Americans have a dream and a goal to better themselves and to stop the cycle of violence, abuse and poverty.

Broadway in the HOOD celebrated its 10-year anniversary on October 10, 2020. As part of this gala celebration, the organization honored several recipients with Lifetime Achievement Awards they sources from Bennett Awards. Receipients included world-renowned singer-songwriter Gladys Knight, legendary actor Ben Vareen, and acclaimed singer Bubba Knight, one of the founding members of Gladys Knight and the Pips.

For these Lifetime Achievement Awards, Broadway in the HOOD presented the ‘Honor’ sculpture awards from Bennett Awards. These unique recognition awards were cast in pewter with a satin finish. They were mounted on black marble bases with silver-fill engraving of the Broadway in the HOOD logo and personalized award and recipient information.
