Uber and Bennett Collaborate on Custom Awards

In late 2020, Uber reached out to us about a new recognition program they were rolling out for 2021.

We worked closely with Uber to deliver their vision to develop and create custom, machined prototype cars for their Airport of the Year Awards.

These awards recognize U.S. and Canada airports that are helping to deliver best-in-class rideshare experiences for this customers. Recognition awards are given out in categories such as Quickest Pickup, Innovation, and Experience.

As written on Uber’s blog, “Despite ongoing impacts from the global pandemic, airports continued the work of improving the ground transportation experience throughout the past year. Through way-finding investments, space re-allocations, innovative technology features and more, airports have changed the way passengers access air travel and up-leveled expectations.”

Quickest Pickup Winner:

Louis Armstrong New Orleans Airport won top honors with an average customer wait time of 3 minutes.

Innovation Winner:

Philadelphia International Airport was selected, for their proactive realization that rideshare volume had grown significantly in recent years and decided to dedicate a commercial road for rideshare pickups.

Experience Winner:

Seattle-Tacoma International Airport made itself one of the most highly rated airports by drivers on the Uber platform. Within the past year, the airport worked with local governmental agencies to fund the installation of permanent restrooms that will replace temporary facilities in the future

About The Award Design

The design of these unique custom awards is based on a sculpture of an automobile. The auto is parked at a sidewalk, and a suitcase is sitting next to it. These sculpture custom awards are created from machined acrylic in a variety of colors. Two sizes were created: a large version that is approximately 17” long and a smaller version that is approximately 11” long.

Personalized engraving is screened on the base of each award.
