In our last blog post, we outlined some of the differences between personalized awards, customizable (or customized) awards, and fully custom awards.
We recently worked on a couple of projects that provide a great example of the “customized” award approach. As a reminder, customized awards are based on stock recognition award designs, but have some element that is created or modified to make the main award design unique to the client commissioning the award. Customized awards are a quick, cost-effective way to create recognition awards that are unique to your organization or event.
In the first example, CePAT, the Center for Pharmaceutical Advancement and Training, commissioned a customized award for their CePAT Honors Awards Gala. CePAT is based in Ghana, and aims to equip individuals and organizations in the Sub-Saharan Africa pharmaceutical industry with the knowledge and skills to promote access to good quality medicines.
The CePAT Honors Awards recognize the valuable contributions of women who have advanced programs in the global health sector and applauds their efforts to build sustainable programs despite myriad challenges in Africa. Their example empowers future generations of women leaders.
For these recognition awards, CePAT worked with Bennett Awards to create two unique customized award designs: one design for their Lifetime Achievement Award, and one design (four awards) for their A.C.E. Awards.
For the Lifetime Achievement Award, our gold-plated United with Globe award was used as the main sculpture of the award. A customized crystal globe with a gold-fill image of Africa was attached to the top of the award. For the A.C.E. Awards, silver-plated In Our Hands awards were used for the main sculptures of the awards, and crystal globes with custom silver-fill images of Africa were mounted on the sculptures. In both instances, the custom Africa images used in the globes created a unique, customized icon relevant to CePAT.
Another good example of a customized award design we created for a client were the recognition awards we created for the Donate Life Transplant Games of America.
The Donate Life Transplant Games is a multi-sport festival event for individuals who have undergone life-saving transplant surgeries. Competition events are open to living donors, organ transplant recipients, bone marrow, corneal and tissue transplant recipients. More than an athletic event, the Donate Life Transplant Games highlight the critical importance of organ, eye, and tissue donation, while celebrating the lives of organ donors and recipients.
The Transplant Games of America worked with Bennett Awards to create a customized version of our Eternal Spirit sculpture awards for their Championship Team Award. Using the Eternal Spirit as the main sculpture of the award, three layered star sculptures were embedded in the Eternal Spirit sculpture, matching the star design used in the Transplant Games of America logo. Different patinas were applied to each of the stars in accordance with the color variation of the logo stars.
