Jimmy Fallon received the Rodney Dangerfield Centennial Respect award at the LACC Virtual Gala on April 22, 2021.

The Rodney Respect Award, named after Rodney Dangerfield and his iconic line "I don't get no respect!", is bestowed upon individuals who've left a unique mark on the history of comedy.

Starting in the year 2009, we’ve worked annually with Joan Dangerfield to present an award in honor of her late husband Rodney Dangerfield.

This year, Jimmy Fallon was selected as the honored recipient. As detailed on the RodneyRespectAward website, Fallon began his TV career as an audience favorite on Saturday Night Live with his spot-on impressions, hilarious sketches and his stint as co-anchor of Weekend Update.

After a successful string of movies, Fallon returned to TV as host of Late Night, and now as host of the Tonight Show.

Rodney would be thrilled that the Tonight Show, where he made over 100 appearances throughout his career, is in such good hands.

Presenting this year’s special award was Joan Dangerfield, who continues to keep Rodney’s comedic legacy alive through her philanthropic efforts.
