Bennett Awards Featured on Influencing Entrepreneur

This month, Bennett Awards owner and manager, Bob Bennett, was interviewed by Influencing Entrepreneur magazine, a lifestyle magazine with a mission to promote startups and founder stories.

CCBC Go Beyond Award

The unique custom award design created for these sculpture awards was based on an abstract geometric design inspired by goBeyondProfit’s logo. As Bob Bennett describes in the interview, Bennett Awards took a new, unique and innovative approach to the awards business – a more artistic, design-centric approach that made heavy use of the then-emerging Internet and other technology developments

Interview Highlights

In the interview, Bob answers questions about what makes Bennett Awards unique. He goes into the specific hurdles faced, as well as how he personally defines success. In addition, he gives 3 tips as it relates to the custom award design industry. A few highlights from the interview are below.

  • Taking the leap into entrepreneurship is discussed, as Bob describes,

“The high-tech startup that I co-founded cemented my interest in entrepreneurship. Once you experience the thrill and excitement of something like that, it is tough to go back to a large organization. Thankfully, I was able to translate that entrepreneurial spirit into our current business.”

  • When asked how technology will likely affect the industry in the next 10 years, Bob answers,

“Technology will have a huge impact on our business and industry. Our industry is unique in that it combines old-world craftsmanship with cutting-edge technology. Certain aspects of our business, such as the process of hand sculpting models and the lost wax casting process, haven’t changed in thousands of years. Other elements of both the design and production process have been heavily influenced by technology. Examples include a greater reliance on design software, and, from a production standpoint, 3D printing technology. Future developments in these areas will continue to transform our business over the next 10 years.”

74th Annual Bay Area Business Hall of Fame Awards recipients

Bay Area Council award recipients hold Boundless Bennett Sculpture Awards. Boundless was designed by artist, Tom Bennett. Bennett Awards is unique in that it entered the awards market from a distinctly different background than most of its competitors: it didn’t start out in the awards or trophy business, but instead as a sculpture studio and network of fine art galleries.
