Bennett Creates Custom Award for U.S. Soccer Tournament of Nations

Bennett Awards created a new custom award for the inaugural women’s soccer Tournament of Nations, an elite international soccer tournament hosed by U.S. Soccer. The tournament featured the women’s national teams from four countries: the U.S., Australia, Brazil and Japan. The championship trophy Bennett Awards created for this tournament featured a gold-plated pewter sculpture with 4 curving spires – each one representing one of the tournament teams – holding a globe aloft. The sculpture was mounted on a custom hardwood polygon-shaped base.

The International Tennis Hall of Fame (ITHOF) commissioned Bennett Awards to create new custom awards for use in a variety of its sponsored events and tournaments. Bennett Awards worked collaboratively with the ITHOF to create a new custom award design for its use in a variety of events and tournaments. The award design was inspired by the ITHOF’s logo, and featured a sculpture in the shape of a tennis racquet with global references, similar to the one appearing in the ITHOF logo. The custom sculpture awards based on this design are cast in pewter and feature a brushed pewter finish.

The National Arena League (NAL), a premier league in arena football, commissioned Bennett Awards to create its first championship trophy. Bennett Awards worked closely with the National Arena League to create a new, cutting edge custom award design for the new National Arena League Championship trophy. The trophy was created in pewter with a sliver-plated finish. The trophy stands 28” tall and weighs approximately 25 lbs. The trophy features a football with NAL logo elements sitting atop a sleek, modern integrated sculpture base.

Rita Moreno Receives Custom Bennett Award from Ballet Hispanico

Legendary actress Rita Moreno recently received a custom lifetime achievement award created by Bennett Awards. Moreno was presented with the Toda Una Vida Lifetime Achievement Award by Ballet Hispanico, America’s premier Latino dance organization. Ballet Hispanico also presented a custom Bennett Award to Ecuadorian-American Pinnacle Group Chairman and CEO Nina Vaca, who received the Nuestra Inspiración Award. For these awards, Ballet Hispanico presented custom sculpture awards based on a new custom award design it commissioned Bennett Awards to create in 2015.

Principal Charity Classic PGA Tournament Presents Bennett Custom Awards

For the ninth consecutive year, the Principal Charity Classic PGA Tournament presented a custom award created by Bennett Awards to its tournament champion. This PGA Tour Champions golf tournament held at the Wakonda Club in Des Moines, Iowa, raises money for Iowa children’s charities, and has contributed nearly $10 million in the last 10 years. For the 2017 tournament, Bennett Awards created a new custom award design based on a glass sculpture in the shape and color scheme of the Principal logo. Two awards were created based on this design: a perpetual award and an individual award for the tournament champion.

Men’s Collegiate Lacrosse Championship Presents Bennett Custom Awards

For the fourth straight year, the Men’s Collegiate Lacrosse Association (MCLA), the preeminent non-varsity collegiate lacrosse organization in the country, presented custom awards created by Bennett Awards to its National Champions. The design of the award is inspired by the MCLA logo: an impressionistic shape of the curved end of a lacrosse stick. The awards are produced in a combination of both anodized steel and acrylic, with the logos of the participating teams silk-screened on the acrylic surface of the award.

The Lady Bird Johnson Environmental Award honors outstanding achievements in the preservation, restoration or improvement of the natural world that embrace Mrs. Johnson's style, energy and commitment to her work. For this award, Burns was presented with the Bennett recognition award In Our Hands, designed by sculptor Terrie Bennett, who herself has a strong commitment to environmental causes, the influence of which can be seen in much of her work.

Bennett Awards recently created two custom recognition awards for the $10 million Qualcomm Tricorder XPRIZE competition. The goal of this incentivized contest was to create a real-world version of the Star Trek tricorder, a mobile medical diagnostic device weighing under 5 pounds a capable of diagnosing at least 13 different health conditions. The award consisted of a trapezoid-shaped cast pewter base with sculpted engravings of the XPRIZE and Qualcomm Tricorder XPRIZE logos, along with information on the award and the winning team. A crystal sphere was mounted on top of the base with 3D subsurface engravings of Leonardo Da Vinci’s Vitruvian Man and binary code that referenced XPRIZE.

‘Hiring Our Heroes’ Program Presents Bennett Custom Awards

For the sixth consecutive year, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation presented custom sculpture awards created by Bennett Awards to the 2016 recipients of the 6th Annual ‘Hiring Our Heroes’ awards. The Hiring Our Heroes Awards recognize employers and individuals who have gone above and beyond to hire, retain, and honor our country’s military talent. In 2011, U.S. Chamber of Commerce commissioned Bennett Awards to create a new, unique custom award design for these recognition awards. This design is a figurative bronze sculpture in the form of a combat serviceman on patrol.

Bennett Creates Custom Awards for Nickelodeon

For the second consecutive year, Bennett Awards created a set of custom recognition awards for Nickelodeon’s HALO Awards. Each year, the Nickelodeon Halo Awards recognize teens that are making a positive difference in their communities and the world by “Helping and Leading Others” (HALO). For these awards, Bennett Awards created custom fabricated aluminum batons. The batons were anodized in orange (the Nickelodeon brand color). The Nickelodeon HALO AWARDS logo was engraved on the front of each baton, and the words “HELPING AND LEADING OTHERS” on the back. Finally, fabricated aluminum stands were created to hold each baton.
